The Rochester Civil War Round Table boasts nearly 90 members made up of educators, authors, arm chair historians, speakers, reenactors, students, descendants of Civil War soldiers as well as others with a casual interest in the American Civil War. Programs are presented and followed by question and answers. Often special speakers are brought in on a variety of topics ranging from specific battles, historic characters or other Civil war related subjects. The organization focuses on helping its members expand their appreciation for the period of the American Civil war and to gain insight into the people and events that shaped our nation. The round table endeavors to preserve and protect historic sites, battlefields, and artifacts of the American Civil war. We take great pride in promoting the history of the Civil War and of Minnesota's role in the war. Although attendance is encouraged, the organization has no set attendance regulations for membership and members are welcome to attend as many or as few meetings as they are able or interested in attending.
